Periodix Planner
Turn Obsidian into a time-aware planning system: automatic periodic notes + time budgets that make trade-offs visible.
What's Covered:
- ▸ Advanced time budgeting with precise allocations
- ▸ Fully reactive category system (create, edit, and delete instantly)
- ▸ Global statistics and analytics across all periodic notes
- ▸ Category-level insights: hours, usage, and distribution
- ▸ Period Tasks sidebar powered by Obsidian Bases integration
- ▸ ActivityWatch time-tracking integration (privacy-first, local)
- ▸ Real-world usage: how I plan my time, not just my notes
What Periodix Planner Does:
Periodix Planner automatically generates interconnected periodic notes: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly. Each note is linked through frontmatter metadata, creating a navigable time structure where every lower period belongs to a higher one — and higher periods track how their time is invested across categories. This creates a top-down and bottom-up planning system inside Obsidian.
- ▸ Automatic periodic note generation (always one step ahead)
- ▸ Hierarchical linking between time periods via frontmatter
- ▸ Time investments allocated into categories, not tasks
- ▸ Budgets flowing from year → quarter → month → week → day
- ▸ Visual feedback showing remaining, exhausted, or over-allocated time
- ▸ How this system complements task managers instead of replacing them
Tasks help you execute. Periodix Planner helps you decide what deserves your time in the first place.
